Does the library provide Internet access for the public? Yes.
Westchester Library System cardholders may sign in and use the public Internet computers for 30 minute sessions up to 6 times a day. Out-of-county users can request a temporary sign in at the Reference Desk. You will be asked to show identification.
Residents who forget their library cards must pay a .50 fine.
There are 9 public Internet stations in the adult room. The two Internet access computers in the Children’s room are not available to adults unless they are assisting children.

Does the library provide wireless access? Yes.

Can I print? Yes. Printing is available at all computers. Black and white pages are 15¢ each; color pages are 35¢ each. Wireless printing is available as well. See our Print from Anywhere page

What is my PIN number? Try last 4 digits of your telephone number. If that doesn't work call the library and we will reset your pin.

What type of software is available?
All Internet computers have Microsoft Office 2010, Open Office, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Is there a copier in the library?
Yes. You can copy at our printer/scanner/copier. Black and white copies are 15¢ and color copies are 35¢ per page. You can feed pages and collate; copy front to back and scan to a flash drive for 10¢ per page.

Can people use a disk in the library computers?
All Internet computers have CD/DVD-RW drives. USB Flash drives may be used at all computers. A USB flash drive is available at the Reference Desk if you need to save files before your session times out.

Does the library have a public fax machine? No.

Does the library accept donations?
The Friends of the Library accept donations of books, DVDs, CDs, and Audiobooks in clean and good condition. Please call 914-245-5262 x227 to see when the Friends will next be accepting donations. Items should be bagged, boxed or tied and should not weigh more than a bag of groceries. Please do not leave donations on the porch or grounds.

Are museum passes available at the library?
The library lends museum passes to John C. Hart Memorial Library cardholders. CLICK HERE for a list of museums and for pass details. Passes may be reserved online.

What is the fine if I return an item late?

  • Adult books, all magazines, pamphlets, audio material (except DVDs) / 10¢ day / Maximum fine: $5.00 per item
  • Juvenile books: 5¢ day / Maximum fine: $5.00 per item
  • DVDs: $1.00 day / Maximum fine: $10.00 per item
  • 7 Day books: 25¢ day / Maximum fine: $5.00 per item
  • Video Games: $2.00 day / Maximum fine $10.00 per item
  • Lost or Damaged material: Cost of Item, plus a $5.00 processing fee
  • Lost material returned within 2 months of date of paid receipt: $5.00 overdue fine
  • Lost material returned after 2 months of date of paid receipt: No refund
  • Missing Barcode: $2.50 each
  • Fee for returned check: amount of check plus $20.00 processing fee

Where can I return my materials? In addition to returning them to the library,(our book drop is open when we are closed), books can be returned at a library book drop in the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center . All materials with the exception of interloans,(books we have borrowed for you from colleges and out of county librarys), may be returned at any public library in Westchester County.
