What is it?
A One County One Read is a shared reading experience in which everyone in the same county is invited to read the same book. In honor of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, the Westchester Libraries have selected The Revolutionary: Samuel Adams by Stacy Schiff

How can I participate?
You can participate in the One County One Read in the following ways:
- Register for one of the One County One Read Beanstack challenges and read the book!
- Join the Mostly Non-Fiction Book Club to discuss the book on April 16th at 2:00pm.
- Attend the Live Author Event with Stacy Schiff, hosted by CBS New York Co-Anchor, Mary Calvi.
- If you are unable to attend the Live Author Event in Yonkers, you can attend a live stream of the event at the John C. Hart Library!
Who are Stacy Schiff and Mary Calvi?
Stacy Schiff
The author of six acclaimed books, Stacy Schiff has received a Pulitzer Prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Cullman Fellowship, a George Washington Book Prize, and an Academy Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, among many other honors. She was featured in Ken Burns’s 2022 Ben Franklin documentary as well as in his American Revolution (2025).
Mary Calvi
Mary Calvi, a 14-time New York Emmy award-winning journalist, has covered a vast amount of breaking news stories during her career, including 9/11. Calvi is also an author. Her in-depth research for her debut book, Dear George, Dear Mary: A Novel Of George Washington’s First Love, is the basis of a Smithsonian Channel documentary.
