DROP-IN PROGRAMS

Family Game Day! Sunday, February 16th at 1:00pm-3:00pm

Bring your friends and family and play board games at the library!  We have games for ages 2 and up.  Did you know that playing board games is a great way to teach social skills and literacy skills to young children? No registration needed.

Song and Beat Inc DrumHand Mindfulness! Saturday, February 22nd at 11:00am

Families are invited to participate in our mindfulness drumming and singing program presented by Song and Beat Inc DrumHand Mindfulness. With the guidance of Song and Beat teaching artist Ernesto you will play African drums and percussion and sing call and response. The instruments will be there waiting for you. No registration required.

Winter Play Group! Fridays at 10:30am-11:30am (last session February 21)

For ages 2-4 with caregiver. Drop in to play with toys and meet new friends in the Storyhour Room! No registration needed.

Toddler Story Time! Tuesdays at 10am (begins February 25).

For ages 1.5 - 3. Join Ms. Olivia for Stories, songs and rhymes! No registration needed.

Music & Movement with Lori Cohen! Tuesdays at 6:00pm OR Fridays at 11:00am (begins February 25/28)

For all ages. Come sing and dance with Lori Cohen and other participants! No registration needed.

Bouncing Babies! Wednesdays at 10:30am OR 11:30am (begins February 26)

Ideal for lap-sitting babies from birth on up. Join us as we do rhymes, bounces, songs and a story or two. Stay to play and meet new friends for a while after. No registration needed.

Exploring Emotions! Thursdays at 10:30 am. (begins February 27)

For ages 2 - 4 with caregiver. We all have a lot of emotions-is your child feeling happy, sad or angry?  This program, led by licensed clinical social worker Selina Toppin, explores emotions through stories and activities and helps give children the language to express these emotions helping families to build their self-awareness. No registration needed.

Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm. For ages 5 & up and families

Drop in to play board games at the library. Bring your friends and family to play some old favorites like Uno and Sorry and some new classics like King of Tokyo and Outfoxed. No registration necessary.

Lego Free Build
Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 for ages 5 and up

Drop in for some Lego fun and build a creation with friends. We will display your amazing creations in the library until the next week. No registration required.

ON-GOING PROGRAMS

I Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Come to sign up for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge! This is a nationwide program that is available at our own library! The concept is simple, the rewards priceless. Read books to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler, the goal is to have read 1,000 books before your precious one starts kindergarten. To sign up come to the library to pick up a reading log. Each child will receive an incentive for every 100 books read. When they reach 1,000 books they will get a certificate, a magnet, and you can take their picture in our special “I read 1,000 books before Kindergarten!” frame!

Are you interested in having a month-long show? 

You will need 6 masterpieces to display in our library frames:  4 are normal paper size (8.5x11" portrait) and there are two large frames (12x18" landscape).
