DROP-IN PROGRAMS

Rock & Roll with Miss Amy! Mondays at 10:30am (November 18th, & 25th) (No class November 4th) (December 2nd, 9th, & 23rd)
Join Amy Hersh and her guitar for some fun rocking, singing and dancing! Amy plays the guitar, starting with kids' classics such as "Twinkle, Twinkle" and American folk songs, then moving on to The Beatles, Chuck Berry, and other rock favorites. This program is for children of all ages and their families.

Please note: This is a ticketed program. Show your John C. Hart Library Card at the Children's Reference Desk to receive tickets about 30 minutes before the program.

Toddler Storytime! Tuesdays at 10:00am-10:30am (November 12th-November 25th)
Join Ms. Olivia for Stories, songs and rhymes. This drop-in program is geared towards children aged 1.5 - 3. No registration required.

Stories with Ms. Terry! Wednesdays, 10:00 am. (No program September 4th)

For ages 3-5. Come hear some great Stories and Rhymes in this traditional story time for children ages 3 to 5 years old. No registration required. Just drop in!

Bouncing Babies! Wednesdays, 10:30 am-11:00am or 11:30-12:00pm. (October 23rd & November 13th & 20th)

Please join us for Bouncing Babies where we'll do rhymes, bounces, songs and a story or two. Stay and play and meet new friends for a while after. This program is ideal for lap-sitting babies from birth on up. No registration necessary.

Art Club! Wednesdays, 4:00pm-6:00pm (Every 1st Wednesday, October 2nd & November 6 & December 4)

Join us for Art Club! This is a drop-in program where you can come and draw whatever you'd like. There will be themes for each week for inspiration, and you can draw on your own or with other kids! For grades 4-6. No registration needed.

Exploring Emotions! Thursdays, 10:30 am-11:00am. (September 19th-October 24th)

For children ages 2 - 4 and caregiver. We all have a lot of emotions-is your child feeling happy, sad or angry? This program, led by licensed clinical social worker Selina Toppin, explores emotions through stories and activities and helps give children the language to express these emotions helping families to build their self-awareness.

Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm. For ages 5 & up and families

Drop in to play board games at the library. Bring your friends and family to play some old favorites like Uno and Sorry and some new classics like King of Tokyo and Outfoxed. No registration necessary.

Lego Club
Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 for ages 5 and up

Drop in for some Lego fun and build a creation with friends. We will display your amazing creations in the library until the next week. No registration required.

ON-GOING PROGRAMS

I Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Come to sign up for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge! This is a nationwide program that is available at our own library! The concept is simple, the rewards priceless. Read books to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler, the goal is to have read 1,000 books before your precious one starts kindergarten. To sign up come to the library to pick up a reading log. Each child will receive an incentive for every 100 books read. When they reach 1,000 books they will get a certificate, a magnet, and you can take their picture in our special “I read 1,000 books before Kindergarten!” frame!

Are you interested in having a month-long show? 

You will need 6 masterpieces to display in our library frames:  4 are normal paper size (8.5x11" portrait) and there are two large frames (12x18" landscape).
