Family Game Day! Wednesday, January 29th at 1:00pm-4:00pm
Bring your friends and family and play board games at the library! We have games for ages 2 and up. Did you know that playing board games is a great way to teach social skills and literacy skills to young children? No registration needed.

Take Your Child to the Library Day! Saturday, February 1st at 10:00am-12:00pm
Bring your child to the library and discover all the wonderful things we have to offer! We will hold a storytime at 10:30 and we'll have many fun activities including button making, a scavenger hunt and Lego free build! No registration needed.
Art Club! Every 1st Wednesday of the month at 4:00pm-6:00pm
Join us for Art Club every 1st Wednesday of the month! This is a drop-in program where you can come and draw whatever you'd like. For the month of February, there will be activities provided to celebrate Black History Month! There will be themes for each week for inspiration, and you can draw on your own or with other kids! For grades 3-5. No registration needed.
Winter Play Group! Fridays at 10:30am-11:30am (December 27th - January 31st; no session on 1/3/25)
For ages 2-4 with caregiver. Drop in to play with toys and meet new friends in the Storyhour Room! No registration needed.
Game on!
Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm. For ages 5 & up and families
Drop in to play board games at the library. Bring your friends and family to play some old favorites like Uno and Sorry and some new classics like King of Tokyo and Outfoxed. No registration necessary.

Lego Free Build
Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 for ages 5 and up
Drop in for some Lego fun and build a creation with friends. We will display your amazing creations in the library until the next week. No registration required.
Song & Dance with Miss Stacy! Saturday at 10:30am (February 15th)
Join Ms. Stacy as she brings a book to life through song and dance. The adventure will begin with a story and then we will explore it further with fun and active musical activities. For children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. No registration.

Rock & Roll with Miss Amy! Mondays at 10:30am (Returning January 27th)
Join Amy Hersh and her guitar for some fun rocking, singing and dancing! Amy plays the guitar, starting with kids' classics such as "Twinkle, Twinkle" and American folk songs, then moving on to The Beatles, Chuck Berry, and other rock favorites. This program is for children of all ages and their families.
Please note: This is a ticketed program. Show your John C. Hart Library Card at the Children's Reference Desk to receive tickets about 30 minutes before the program.
Stories with Ms. Terry! Wednesdays, 10:00 am. (Return date TBD)
For ages 3-5. Come hear some great Stories and Rhymes in this traditional story time for children ages 3 to 5 years old. No registration required. Just drop in!
ON-GOING PROGRAMS
I Read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Come to sign up for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge! This is a nationwide program that is available at our own library! The concept is simple, the rewards priceless. Read books to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler, the goal is to have read 1,000 books before your precious one starts kindergarten. To sign up come to the library to pick up a reading log. Each child will receive an incentive for every 100 books read. When they reach 1,000 books they will get a certificate, a magnet, and you can take their picture in our special “I read 1,000 books before Kindergarten!” frame!

You will need 6 masterpieces to display in our library frames: 4 are normal paper size (8.5x11" portrait) and there are two large frames (12x18" landscape).
